Let’s talk about the stuff behind the scenes - the stuff you don't see in class.
Being a Pilates instructor is equal parts physical therapist, therapist-therapist, coach, cheerleader, movement nerd, and stage performer.
Here’s the backstage pass:
Before the class, you prepare your class, clean the studio and ground yourself
During class you cue instructions while scanning the room for form corrections, water breaks, and emotional check-ins
You adjust the flow in real time for the client who had knee surgery, the newbie who’s totally lost, and the one doing the exercise but not doing it in a way they will get something out of it
You end class smiling even when you’re running on 3 hours of sleep and coffee fumes (True)

And the reason I do this every week?
Because I love it! Because every class is a chance to help someone feel more at home in their body. For someone to notice a change in their strength or movement that they are proud of.
The real work of teaching Pilates isn’t just teaching moves—it’s creating transformation.
