Teaching Your Glutes to Show Up for the Team

Let’s talk about glutes—the muscle group everyone thinks they’re training… but often aren't.

Your glutes aren’t just for filling out leggings. They’re powerhouses for:
Hip extension
Pelvic stability
Lower back support
Walking, running, and everything in between
But in today’s chair-loving world, glutes often go “offline.” Quads, hip flexors, and even your back muscles start doing their job instead. That’s when things get messy.
To wake them up:
Focus on glute activation, not just movement.
Use tactile feedback or props (hello, mini ball between the thighs!).
Think
intention—“press the floor away,” “feel the squeeze,” “move from the hip, not the back.”
Strong glutes make everything better: squats, lunges, planks, posture, you name it. So if your backside has been on vacation, it’s time to call it back to work.
